We believe that families are children’s first and most influential teachers. Partnership are based

on the foundation of understanding each other’s expectations and attitudes and build on the

strengths of each other’s knowledge. We trust each other by communicating freely and

respectfully with each other to engage in shared decision making.

‘Every child deserves a champion- an adult who will never give upon them, who understands

the power of connection and insists that they become the best they can possibly be’

First Day of Kindergarten

Little Creative Explorers Family Day Care will strive to ensure educators and employees are trained and equipped to enable the service to offer a highly quality sought-after service. This includes practical and specific skills relating to education and care practices and program development, as well as developing knowledge and awareness of legislation and the national quality standards. Educators are required to undergo a recruitment process, including a 3-month probation period to ensure they have all of the required information and documentation pertaining to the delivery of an education and care service.

Educators will be required to undertake ‘compliance’ training in that 3-month period, delivered by the approved provider/nominated supervisor, other training will be based on the service’s needs and quality improvement plan and individual educator needs. Educators will be required to, as part of their agreement, maintain all required training and credentials and also commit to a minimum of 8 professional development sessions per year. Professional development can be undertaken through internal opportunities, which the service will budget for, or external opportunities at the expense of the educator.

In addition to offering professional development, we plan on drawing on the unique skills, values, cultures, work and business practices from educators and employees to create a highly qualified and knowledgeable team within Little Creative Explorers family day care service. We will identify educator strengths and utilize those strengths and knowledge in training and information sharing to ensure educators are aware of best practice, by encouraging educators and staff to share their knowledge and experience to support other less experienced educators throughout monthly network meetings.
